BABE RUTH LEAGUE - BASEBALL & SOFTBALL FOR AGES 4-18
Learn more about Cal Ripken baseball and Babe Ruth baseball and softball. We offer a comprehensive youth baseball and softball program for youths ranging in age from 4-18 Babe Ruth League is divided into the following divisions by age group and sport:

Cal Ripken Baseball:    ages 4-12 (includes Major 60 & 70 programs)
Babe Ruth Baseball:     ages 13-18
Babe Ruth Softball:       ages 4-18

Joining the fastest growing youth baseball and softball program in the US today. Affiliating with Babe Ruth is easy and fast. We offer tee ball, baseball, and softball programs for youths ranging in age from 4 to 18 years old. We also our Buddy Ball program for special needs players. Our Cal Ripken division features baseball for players 4-12 and the Babe Ruth division is for older players 13-18 in age. Babe Ruth softball is offered in the 6U, 8U, 10U, 12U, 14U, 16U, and 18U age groups. We also offer a comprehensive summer tournament trail in baseball and softball culminating with World Series play in a number of different age groups in both sports. CAL RIPKEN MAJOR 70' PROGRAM - SINCE 2007
In 2007, Babe Ruth League, Inc. introduced an innovative new program as part of its Cal Ripken baseball division. This program, called Cal Ripken Major 70 or the 12/70 program as it is known, is designed for 11 & 12 players. The league plays on an expanded diamond featuring 70' base paths and a pitching distance of 50'. With the change in league age determination to April 30th along with new bat technology and rapid player development due to new training techniques, many players have outgrown the traditional 60/46 setup. In addition to the expanded diamond, the 12/70 program allows lead offs, pick offs, and base stealing and the rules are essentially the same as Babe Ruth 13-18, high school, and college baseball with minor exceptions for safety. The 12/70 program does not permit large barrel bats nor steal cleats as safety precautions. Leagues may now implement the 12/70 program along with the traditional 12/60 (60' bases, 46' pitching distance) and participate in both the 12/60 and 12/70 tournament trails and expand their program offering to appeal to more players.

INSURE YOUR LEAGUE WITH K&K INSURANCE (UPDATED 1/21)
K&K Insurance has teamed up with Babe Ruth League, Inc. to offer outstanding insurance, prices, and service for league affiliates. In addition to medical and liability coverages, K&K also offers supplemental policies for Director & Officer Liability coverage (D&O) and theft coverage. There are many unique aspects to K&K's coverage that make it ideal for local leagues. Players and coaches are covered for interpark and tournament play - there is no need to purchase additional insurance for play outside of your home league. Coverage also extends to tournament trail teams. Policies are annual and are effective 2/1 and expire 1/31. CHARTER AND INSURE USING THE ONLINE DATA CENTER (UPDATED 1/21)
Expanding on the Data Center tool introduced in 2009 and improved in 2010, the Babe Ruth Data Center is available for 2011 league charters and insurance. Existing leagues (including those with new league presidents) may login and view charter and insurance history and renew for 2011. New leagues may register with the Data Center to create an account and to charter and insure their league for 2011 play. If you are a new league, please contact the state commissioner, Reese Jacobs, for information on how to charter for 2011 or visit the Data Center and register online as a new league.
